Create an IME Booking via Clinic Calendar
OVERVIEW
Case Managers (Law Firms/Insurers) can book and request Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) to obtain a medicolegal report that is written for their claimant. IMEs involve the organisation of an appointment for the specialist to perform an assessment on the claimant’s condition.
You can create an IME Assessment booking using one of the following options:
- Create an IME Booking via Clinic Calendar
- Create an IME Booking via Appointment Search
- Create an IME Booking via Appointment Direct
This article explains how Case Managers can book appointments using the Clinic Calendar, which stores specialists’ available time slots and scheduled sessions.
RECOMMENDATION
Using the Clinic Calendar for bookings is most useful when you already know which specialist you’d like to book with or recommend.
CREATE AN IME BOOKING WITH THE CLINIC CALENDAR
- Access the Clinic Calendar through one of the following options:
- Dashboard → Book a Service → IME (hover) → Via Clinic Calendar

- Clinic Calendar (sidebar menu)

- My Cases → IME Assessments → Add New Case (hover) → Via Clinic Calendar

- Find an available session.
- Use the dropdown lists and/or filters to customise the session list displayed on the calendar to help you locate an appropriate session for booking.

- Sessions are colour-coded based on their Appointment Type and Availability Type

- In the Calendar, select a session to open its details.
- Review Session Details.
- Clinic Location
- Booking & Cancellation Terms
- Appointment Details & Type/Availability Type
- Service Exclusions & Reservation

- Select Book this session to create an IME Assessment with the selected calendar session automatically added to the appointment details.
- Complete all required fields and any additional relevant information for the new IME Assessment case, then select Create to save.

- Once the case is created, an Appointment Inquiry will automatically be sent to staff for follow-up.
Note:
- Once created, the case is added to the IME Assessments database and assigned a unique Kawaconn Case ID.
- Even if the booking is made in a Confirmed Available or Unconfirmed Available session, the appointment will remain unconfirmed until staff approval.
